The Story Behind Fall/Winter 2026

If you've been around Skhoop for a while, you probably know that our collections are planned pretty far in advance. Like— really far in advance.

Our Fall/Winter collections are typically planned about nine months before they actually hit the website. So when I decided earlier this year that I was going to take over Skhoop USA, the Fall/Winter 2026 collection was already in the works, and I was already a couple of months behind.

I could have pushed the whole thing back, but instead I decided to get a little creative.

Start with what we already had

When we order fabric for a collection, we intentionally order extra. Manufacturing isn't always predictable. Things change, mistakes happen, a style might need to be tweaked, or we might need more material than we originally expected.

After production is finished, that can leave us with some perfectly good materials that didn't get used.

Some of it gets used for prototypes, special projects, or small-batch pieces. But sometimes it just sits. And fabric can't live in storage forever. Eventually, if we can't find a use for it, it can end up being thrown away.

And there is a lot of textile waste out there. Globally, around 92 million tonnes of textile waste are generated every year.

I knew that if I could make a collection using materials we already had in our supply chain, I'd much rather do that than order a whole bunch of new materials just because that's how we had always done it.

So I dug into what we already had, built a massive Excel spreadsheet, and got to work.

A little digging through Skhoop history

I started going through everything we had — fabrics, colors, linings, insulation, trims — and figuring out what we could actually make from it.

And honestly, this part was really fun.

I got to pull some of my favorite Skhoop colors and fabrics from the past few years and think about how we could use them in new ways. Some ended up in styles you already know and love. Some became new color combinations. And some helped spark entirely new ideas.

Nearly every piece in the Fall/Winter 2026 collection was made using materials that were already in our supply chain.

I love that this collection has some familiar Skhoop favorites in it, but also gave me a chance to do things a little differently.

It's fun to look at a piece and think, "Oh, I remember that color," and then see it show up in something completely new.

And then came the new ideas

Working with what we already had didn't mean we were limited to making versions of things we'd made before. In fact, some of my favorite new pieces came directly out of this process.

Take the Tif Skirt, for example.

We designed the Tif Skirt specifically because it gave us a way to use materials we already had sitting around. The stripes and mix of colors are completely intentional, and I love how it came together.

It's a little bit reminiscent of our old Mini Down Skirt, but it definitely has a personality of its own.

A new collection, and a new chapter for Skhoop

This is my first big collection as the owner of Skhoop USA, so naturally, it feels pretty special to me.

It definitely didn't come together in the most traditional way. There was a lot of digging, a lot of spreadsheets, a lot of moving things around, and probably more time spent staring at fabric swatches than I'd like to admit.

But I'm really proud of what we ended up with.

Nearly every piece in this collection uses materials we already had in our supply chain. I got to bring back some of my favorite Skhoop colors and fabrics, combine them in new ways, and create a few things you haven't seen from us before.

I love that we were able to give these materials another life instead of letting them go to waste.

And now, after nine months of planning, one massive Excel spreadsheet, and a whole lot of Skhoop history, Fall/Winter 2026 is finally here.

I hope you love this collection as much as I do.
