I originally bought a blue mini (color no longer available) for style purposes mainly. Come to find out, in really cold weather while hiking in New England my hips and butt get really cold! So this min is now a staple for my comfort and safety while looking pretty darn cute! I just purchased another one in the color walnut. LOVE the color. Unfortunately I had purchase through a retailer as SKHOOP was out of stock in my size and color options. Functional and cute! I am about 5' 3" & 125 lbs and medium fits me best. Wish it was a *tad* longer even for my 5' 3" frame.
My bum is always cold when I’m done skiing and I was amazed how much of a difference this skirt makes! It keeps me from getting chilly when the wind pics up on a cold, dry day and it looks great over a base layer for apres! Small and easily packable, I’ve added it to my kit as a go to layer for backcountry adventures.
This skirt is adorable and I get nonstop compliments on it.I bought the mini when my short down skirt became too big (finally lost the baby weight) Its cute and great for around town, ski tours, throwing over tights, you name it. I promise you'll start looking for excuses to wear it!My only criticism of this skirt is that I wish it had pockets on both sides.Beyond that it's a wonderful design. SKHOOP has second-to-none customer service.I had a few questions about the color I was ordering and the sizing (since the mini does run a bit small) and they promptly answered my questions and helped me order the correct size on the first go.Later I had the opportunity to meet the women that operate SKHOOP and you can't ask for a nicer and more professional group of women!Definitely worthy of supporting - I can't decide what to get next, I think I have my eye on a sweater.
Being a male and engineer looking at the design of SKHoop thermal skirts I had to try one on. Big mistake because now in addition to the "mini" I now have the "midi" and "long down" skirts! They work! (For anyone). I was surprised that the mini could keep one warm but it does. It keeps the core temperature up yet provides freedom of movement and being longer in the back allows sitting on cold surfaces. These thermal skirts are warmer than the equivalent in pants and look great. The SKHoop Long Down Skirt is warmer than the best thermal pants! It also unzips fully on one side making a blanket thus has many uses you don't get with pants. (The skirt has less surface area than pants for heat transfer so you retain your body heat better). I'm impressed with the design, function and quality. Highly recommend and see no reason why guys are afraid of skirts. Once you try one of these skirts on a cold day you won't give it up!
I totally made fun of down skirts when I first saw them. But then I realized my hips were getting cold while ice climbing.Lo and behold, one of the instructors let me borrow her down skirt.I fell in love!My hips were so cozy!I immediately started to figure out which one I wanted.I ended up with this one as it seemed the most versatile for active use as well as around town use.It now goeson almost every tour with me. I got the medium and I am 5'4" ~135lbs.It is slightly tight, but not too restrictive, when wearing over softshell pants but is perfect over leggings.I'm so glad I can finally keep my hips warm!
